"Sham"

shaam bhi koi jese hai nadi, lehr lehr jese beh rahi hai
koi an-kahi, koi an-suni, baat dheeme dheeme keh rahi hai
kahin na kahin jaagi huwi hai koi aarzu
kahin na kahin khoey huwe se hain main aur tu

ke boom boom boom ta ra ta ra, hain khamosh donon
ke boom boom boom ta ra ta ra, hain madhosh donon
jo gumsum gumsum hai yeh fizaen
jo kehti sunti hain yeh nigaahain
jo gumsum gumsum hai yeh fizaen, hai naa?

suhaani suhaani hai yeh kahaani, jo khaamoshi sunaati hai
jise tu ne chaaha, hoga woh tera, mujhe woh yeh bataati hai
main magan hun, par na jaanun, kab aane wala hai woh pal
haule haule dheere dheere khile ga dil kahin to

ke boom boom boom ta ra ta ra, hain khamosh donon
ke boom boom boom ta ra ta ra, hain madhosh donon
jo gumsum gumsum hai yeh fizaen
jo kehti sunti hain yeh nigaahain
jo gumsum gumsum hai yeh fizaen, hai naa?

yeh kesa same hai, kesa samaan hai, ke shaam hai bigar rahi
yeh sab kuch haseen hai, sab kuch jawaan hai, hai zindagi machal rahi
jagmagaati jhilmilaati palak palak pe khuwaab hai
sun yeh hawaaen gungunaaen jo geet laajawaab hai

ke boom boom boom ta ra ta ra, hain khamosh donon
ke boom boom boom ta ra ta ra, hain madhosh donon
jo gumsum gumsum hai yeh fizaen
jo kehti sunti hain yeh nigaahain
jo gumsum gumsum hai yeh fizaen, hai naa?

sham = evening

Sham bhi koi jaise hai nadi
=this evening is like a river

Lehar lehar jaise beh rahi hai
=like waves waves it flows

Koi ankahi, koi ansuni
=something unsaid, something unheard

Baat dheemi dheemi keh rahi hai
=the talk is slowly and softly saying it

Kahin na kahin jaagi hui hai koi aarzoo
=somewhere somewhere there has risen a hope or desire

(aarzoo means many things: wish, desire, longing, eagerness, hope; trust; expectation; intention, purpose, object, design, inclination, affection, love -- depending on how you use it)

Kahin na kahin khoye hue se hain main aur tu
=somewhere somewhere you and i are lost

Ke boom boom boom para para
(no meaning)

Hai khaamosh dono
=both are silent

Ke boom boom boom para para
(no meaning)

Hai madhosh dono
= both are kind of intoxicated

Jo gummsum gummsum hai yeh fizayein
=the environment is like meloncholic

Jo kehti sunti hai yeh nigahein
=and what are the glances hearing and saying

Gummsum gummsum hai yeh fizayein hai na
=the environment is like meloncholic, isn't it

Suhani suhani hai yeh kahani
=wonderful wonderful is this story

Jo khamoshi sunaati hai
=what silence makes us here

Jise tune chaha hoga woh tera
=who you desire will come to you

Mujhe woh yeh batati hai
= that's what the silence says

Main magan hoon par na jaanu
=i am hopeful but i don't know

Kab aane wala hai woh pal
=when the moment will come

Jab haule haule dheere dheere
= when slowly slowly
(haule doesn't have an english translation but it kind of means slowly but you can imagine slow motion)

Khilega dil ka yeh kamal
= the flower will open up/unfold

Ke boom boom boom para para
Hai khaamosh dono
Ke boom boom boom para para
Hai madhosh dono
Jo gummsum gummsum hai yeh fizayein
Jo kehti sunti hai yeh nigahein
Gummsum gummsum hai yeh fizayein hai na
(same as above)

Yeh kaisa samay hai, kaisa sama hai
=what sort of a time is this, what sort of a space is this

Ke shaam hai pighal rahi
=where the evening melts away

Yeh sab kuch haseen hai, sab kuch jawan hai
=everything is beautiful, everything is young

Hai zindagi machal rahi
= and life is dancing about
(machal is a word used to describe a fish a lot like if a taken out of water it keeps dancing about -- that is a good picture of machal)

jagmagati jilmilati
=glowing and glittering

Palak palak pe khwaab hai
=at every turn there is a dream

Sun yeh hawayein gungunaye
=the wind is singing
(gunguna means like singing but more like melody)

Jo geet lajawab hai
=and it's songs are wow

Ke boom boom boom para para
Hai khaamosh dono
Ke boom boom boom para para
Hai madhosh dono
Jo gummsum gummsum hai yeh fizayein
Jo kehti sunti hai yeh nigahein
Gummsum gummsum hai yeh fizayein hai na
